MIE /mi/
From a loaf of bread.
To a place of comfort.
MIE takes its name from the French word for the soft heart of bread. The plump, springy outside of a loaf and its tender interior inspired this armchair. A rounded, square silhouette brings the back and arms together in one enveloping gesture, turning a familiar everyday form into a place to settle.
A generous form. A soft heart.
Rounded at the edges.
Embracing at heart.
The arms flow into the back along one continuous curve, surrounding a gently recessed seat. A generous volume softly gathers at each corner, creating a considered silhouette from front to back.
Two textures. One contour.
The warmth of leather
Cognac leather wraps the exterior. Fine seams trace its curves and give definition to the generous form.
The softness of fabric
Cream fabric extends across the seat and inner arms. Delicate piping draws the two materials together along a continuous edge.
